16 October 2012

On October 20th, 2012, a selected group of gentlemen will put on an exhibition race of antique motorcycling, and automotive racing history on the beach. American made motorcycles from 1911 thru 1950 will run along the Allenhurst shore, and finish in Loch Arbor. Like the early races and beach testing sites for experimental mechanical engineering in our early American days.

There will be an old time program with details on our event; cars, motorcycles, racers, and old time add space, for this nostalgic created race. Also a wreath ceremony at the end of the race with both our mayors of Allenhurst and Loch Arbor.

There will also be a pre party the night before on the beach, with a bon fire provided by our faithful fire department, and live entertainment on the beach. The SWINGIN NECKBREAKERS from Trenton, NJ will perform their aggressive, rocket-fueled style of GARAGE ROCK!

There is no admission charge for this pre party, and you may BYOB cans or plastic only. The pre party is on October the 19th at 8pm and will conclude by 11pm

On October the 20th (Race Day).Race starts at 10 am sharp! Autos will race autos in a drag strip style straight line along the ocean. Bikes will race each other as well, two at a time. Cars and bikes will race all day until the tide chases us out! Another BYOB for day two cans or plastic only. Garbage bags will be provided for garbage to individuals, but not for tent parties. Please prepare properly and we ask that everyone respect our beaches and keep it clean!

There is also a car and bike show, so bring out you traditional hot rods, Customs, bikes, bring anything vintage and cool. Boats, scooters, etc. It's going to be a PARTY! Pac a picnic basket, bring the wife and kids too! A family event.

Admission for race day will be 20 dollars for adults, and 10 dollars for children. Children under 7 years old are free. See you on the beach, see you on race day!!!

Sadly, I could not attend.  I was busy bustin' my partner outta the joint! Here are some photos I ripped from the Oiler's Car Club site.  Can't believe I had to miss it!

Tide's comin' in!
On your lines in the sand, Go!
